All quiet on the Osprey front. Mistle started gently food soliciting, then quiet, then stood up to reveal.........
,, what appeared to be a half eaten rainbow trout! No doubt Scylla will be able to get a much sharper image than me. All this happened about 5:45. It was as stiff as a board. When was that delivered?
Afrer faffing around getting images 1 of them has come back to the nest and is incubating - can't tell which.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
IMAGICAT
Site still very, very slow.
19 June
I forgot to say (I think I forgot, anyway) that last night Mistle deliberately picked up the fish and stashed it almost underneath herself for the night.
This morning she had a feed from it and then fed the chicks, with #2 struggling to get bites - in fact, it seemed to receive a knock-out peck to the face from #1 and took some time to recover. Here's some of the feed:
I don't think Axel's been in yet, but Mistle's looking out for him a lot.
I shan't be here till later.
#2 didn't drop this bite!
Third feed of the morning about to commence, poop was expelled when chick lunged forward:
The site has recovered, yay!
Axel flew to perch @ 06:11 and Mistle got up right away and claimed ownership of the leftover fish
He stayed 3 minutes, she ate and fed the chicks.
Axel back @ 06:49, he stood on the nest until 07:20:
Later, Mistle finished the fish - let's hope Axel fetches some more before the morning's out, just for our peace of mind
Cheerio until later :)))

13.31 Mistle flies off for a break. Osplets take opportunity to poop. Their crops are full.Mistle returns, I think she has the remains of the last fish in one fist.
