Just a thought

House work is for people who don’t know how to garden.

Mince and custard? I use a lot of mince ... but not with custard. The rest of it sounds good.

AQ - I might just adapt that a little ... Housework and gardening are for people who don't have a computer!

PAT - The custard is a topping. We thought it odd. Here is a pic of Bobotie.

I should have read their recipe before posting! I found my recipe in a magazine. It doesn't have carrot, cloves, ginger, turmeric, curry leaves. Has apricot jam instead of chutney.

Look what I have just discovered in my garden. It has opened out in the rain!!!

Rusty (and I checked I was replying to the right person this time!) - I have a bush with flowers just like that - but the leaves are completely different. Mine is a cistus, and is prolific. I have seen other colours, particularly lovely cream one with a dark purple centre - I want one of those! I'm no gardener, but I know what I like looking at ...

Bobotie - surely the "custard" is similar to the yoghourt and egg on Pastichio - which I have also used on Lasagne in the past.

RUSTY - lovely Poppy for Linda - her favourite flower.

Had quite a "normal" weekend - mowing repeated, some tisdying, washed cushion covers having rehung the cleaned curtains. Also been gongoozling as "young" couple across the road do strange things to the front of their house and garden!

Much confusion over bank holiday - always a bit odd here near the border and our butcher has decided Thursday and Friday will be very busy, so is taking the "real" holiday today instead! We shall steer clear of events, but may watch some of the nostalgia on TV. No disrespect to HM, just prefer to avoid public hype.

I feel guilty as I haven't had sitting room or dining room curtains cleaned since I can't remember when ! However, those rooms are only used a few times a year ( my excuse!) I do use the attachment on the vacuum cleaner to give them a once over, though.
