Laddie (LM12) and NC0 have continued their excellent partnership from last season, not only with the incubation of their three beautiful eggs but also in defending the nest, and area, from intruding Ospreys.

During the middle of this month, all being well, we will witness three gorgeous chicks hatching and being lovingly cared for by their wonderful parents. Here’s hoping that fine weather, abundant deliveries of fish from Laddie, as well as NC0’s feeding skills, will see the little ones thrive.

  • That’s lovely thanks Sandra. I was glued to the live screen worried about where Laddie was and when NC0 started calling I was so happy. The joys of Osprey watching eh! Smile

NC0 did look really hungry as she tore into the fish but making sure her chicks got plenty too. She’ll be tired with the stress of waiting on her late supper, gulping it down and seeing off an intruder earlier as well! (Not to mention the inclement weather)

Good night all…………. Except Scylla who I suspect may be up all night watching for #3 chick’s appearance!! Good luck if you are Scylla.Fingers crossed
  • The joys, and the worries that go along with it, Glider! Goodnight Zzz

23:05 NC0 got up and ate some of the fish

    The fish is now here

17:42 NC0 chipping/mantling/alarm calling. Intruder over the nest! Its talons at the top of pic

NC0's wings, left and right Blush

  • Overnight to daycam - hardly any views of #3 - oh my, #2 is pecky - I hope #1's 'mouth' isn't bleeding:

NC0 took a comfort break, still no progress can be seen for #3, chick #1 tries to get its own back but isn't half the pecker that #2 is, so far Stuck out tongue  No blood seen, phew!

  • Good morning Scylla and all

Such fabulous vids which are so very much appreciated, Scylla - THANK YOU! Hugging

#2 is extremely feisty isn't it and really did grab hold of #1's lower beak, even the offer of fish from NC0 didn't stop the argy-bargy! Pleased that there was no harm done.

The egg is at 35 days today and am confused...is there a pip or not? (A rhetorical question)

NC0 returned from a comfort break a short time ago (7:12)

I'm sure the same question is bouncing around the minds of me 'n Glider, Sandra Grinning

EDIT - and lurkers, of course!

  • Confusion reigns! lol
    7:55 Fish!

I have to head off to work. BFN

  • See ya Sandra!

I have checked for egg developments up to 08:46 - nothing exciting seen except how it can look like 2 shells sometimes, due to patterning.

    I'm off for a nap.
  • Good afternoon everyone, Thanks for the great overnight videos Scylla. Thumbsup

Sandra thanks for the fish delivery post this morning . Slight smile The close up of the egg you posted yesterday definitely looked like a pip to me!

However, I’d forgotten the 3rd egg was just 35 days old but with Clywedog hatching 2 in the same day yesterday, it just got me excited about our #3 egg thinking it must be imminent! Still plenty of time to hatch then. Loch of the Lowes did say they were expecting it to hatch today. Fingers crossed
