Many thanks to AG who wrote this preface to the Llyn Brenig thread for us (below)
Llyn Brenig is a reservoir on the border between Denbighshire and County Conwy in North Wales. It is managed by Welsh Water; the osprey project is a partnership between them and North Wales Wildlife Trust.
One pair of ospreys raised a single chick here each year from 2018-2020. Neither of this pair returned in 2021, when the nest was taken over by 2 Scottish birds, LJ2 (male) and LM6 (female), both 2018 chicks. The nest was vandalised the night after LM6 had laid her first egg; while the two could not continue to breed they did stay close to the site until normal migration time.
A new nest has been erected in 2022 with additional security and a streaming camera is in place. A new hide has also been built.

18.28, fish #4 delivered. A good sized trout.
LJ2 let go of the lifeless fish straight away when LM6 came to collect it. Chick #1 managed more than chick #2 during the short feed.
Around 19.30 LM6 takes a comfort break off the nest. When she returns, she wants to give the chicks another feed off the fish caught earlier. Chick #1 initially gets up has a look then lies down again. It takes about 5 minutes for them to both decide to go over for some supper.
The lighting’s poor on the nest just now, but look at #1’s crop before the feed!
Chick #1 takes a few beakfuls. Chick #2 takes more and soon they’ve both had enough. Time to lie down again.
Fish at around 11.00.
I don’t know if there have been any earlier fish deliveries as the stream was down and I could only scroll back 2+ hours on new stream.
Both chicks were keen to feed
Chick #1 retired first and chick #2 got fed on and off for a bit longer. LM6 ate as well then left the half fish on the nest.
13.28, LJ2 returns with what’s left of the half fish he retrieved earlier.
It is eaten until it is more or less finished. Both chicks satisfied.
17.43 sizeable upside down perch delivery
After the chicks had had enough fish and settled down, LJ2 took back the half eaten fish.
19.11 After a feed, LJ2 returned back to the nest with the remainder.
After about a 20 min feed, the chicks were satisfied and there was still some fish left for a later snack.
Fis delivery earlier from scroll back If I've read it correctly it was about 07.15ish Feed began right away I wasn't able to watch fror long but #2 seemed to be getting more but difficlt to tell ascam kept stalling Although its bigger there wasno aggression from #1 when the bulk of the bits were being fed to its sibling has there been any fighting between the 2?
