All quiet on the Osprey front but all delighted to be able to watch the NEW nest on the NEW cam. Thanks to all for the hard work erecting / installing both. You derserve a sucessful breeding pair this year for your efforts.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
10.55 Axel returned to mate, and flew, dropping to the right
10.57 Mistle flew to the dead tree by the old cam tower
Peace!

12.53. Looked like a successful mating but still no fish. He was doing well at the start of their relationship but I'm feeling less confident in him now. And yes, shades of George
IMAGICAT
12.50 after a long spell on the perch, Mistle dropped to the nest, looking intently around and with a small feather stuck to her beak. She started to mantle, but quietly. a few chips...12.52 Axel lands to mate!! and flies off.
She remains crouching down calling, and Axel returned to the perch, and as CRinger said above she calls... however Axel takes off flying over the back and to the left, but not to the dead tree near the old cam tower. She is quiet briefly and starts calling, looking now to the right. I wonder what perch is over there.
13.08
13.13 she prowls around the nest, calling
13.54 She flew to the dead tree
14.01 she isn't calling, and there is no sign of Axel
