All quiet on the Osprey front but all delighted to be able to watch the NEW nest on the NEW cam. Thanks to all for the hard work erecting / installing both. You derserve a sucessful breeding pair this year for your efforts.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
I wonder if the black plastic object is one of those dog excrement (I refuse to use the word poo) bags that people use then despicably leave lying around. If so, even more reason for it to go ASAP. Or am I using the wrong forum just to make a point about inconsiderate dog owners? Ian

I wanted to serve you up Patily's fish, so scrolled back (7.40am). It's a bit of a scrag end as my old mother used to say.

The books say too early. I was thinking aound 26th for the laying of the first egg................... BUT............... she is sitting VERY low............. AND............... I can't remember the last time I saw an Osprey reading a book!!! We will soon know by watching Axel's behaviour the next time he brings a fish back..............
HOPEFULLY it will not be.............
'To incubate or not to incubate - that is the question...............'
Let's not forget it will probably be the first time in his life he has ever seen an egg! Will instinct kick in and will he know what to do?
How do we all cope with all this stress and worry?
Have a DOUBLE G & T is my answer.
Sitting low, as CRinger describes. Fingers crossed. SYAL

Maybe she's just trying it out for size? She was first seen on this nest on 10 April I think. I guess it's possible she was somewhere else first, and with Axel or another male before she flitted here??
