2021 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 21st March; NC0(16) - 25th March
Laddie and NC0 were an exceptional team during 2021, successfully raising two very feisty and well fed juveniles, LR1 and LR2. LR2 was sighted in Southern Spain on 3.9.21 and again on 25.10.21
2022 marks Laddie's 11th breeding year, NC0's 3rd, and very much hope that our wonderful pair have a safe, spring migration back to this stunning nest location at Loch of the Lowes.

17:40 Laddie continues to incubate

17:43
NC0 took over incubation at 18:18ish
18:54
Laddie brought what looked like a clump of damp, black leaves? to the nest at 19:50
He was able to peck tiny pieces of it away with ease
20:40 Laddie to the nest, no fish. I think NC0 was expecting her supper to be served.
Whatever Laddie brought to the nest earlier is now in the nest cup too.
NC0 headed to the birch
NC0 returned to the nest perch at 20:51
20:56 NC0 taking over incubation. She had to be careful with her footing when entering the nest cup
Laddie off to the birch. NC0 moved a small licheny stick that had slipped into the nest cup
He settled on the low branches. A swan made a racket with its flapping across the Loch as NC0 settled
21:08 NC0 at dusk
Nightcam came on at 21:09
Good morning Glider, Cirrus and all
Glider said:I got a fright when I heard the swan! NCO wasn’t too bothered.
Yes, you could hear the swan a few seconds before it came into view, the sound made me jump too!
You're very welcome, Cirrus
At around 6:55, Laddie was incubating, NC0 was on the perch. They were both very quiet as they were alerted to something. Laddie left the nest
NC0 to the nest cup. Still two eggs. There was a piece of light brown nesting material in the cup which NC0 knocked/moved with her talons as she settled to incubate
7:28 Laddie brought a twig to the nest and placed it on NC0. She took it off, he placed it on the front edge
Laddie moved an annoying licheny stick from the edge of the nest cup and put it on the edge too
8:04 NC0 currently incubating. Will egg #3 arrive today?
