2021 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 21st March; NC0(16) - 25th March
Laddie and NC0 were an exceptional team during 2021, successfully raising two very feisty and well fed juveniles, LR1 and LR2. LR2 was sighted in Southern Spain on 3.9.21 and again on 25.10.21
2022 marks Laddie's 11th breeding year, NC0's 3rd, and very much hope that our wonderful pair have a safe, spring migration back to this stunning nest location at Loch of the Lowes.

Laddie returned at 19:37 - he still has the fish
©SWT/LotL
He stood on the back of the nest for a few minutes (NC0 made no attempt to get up) then left the nest, taking the fish away with him... again
20:01 Laddie, once again, returned with the fish
20:03 The fish is gaining plenty of air miles! Off Laddie went
21:27 NC0 sleeping, keeping her two precious eggs cosy and warm
Laddie didn't come back to the nest with that fish (as far as I can tell).
Morning all,
Laddie arrived at 5:00ish without the tail end of fish from yesterday. NC0 allowed him see the two eggs...
...then she resumed incubation
5:45ish Laddie took over incubation (no breakfish)
NC0 returned about an hour later
They exchanged duty
8:15 NC0 flew off to the birch but Laddie was very close to the nest. He flew in within a matter of seconds to begin another incubation shift
8:35 At present, NC0 is on the perch, Laddie is incubating
After flying off from the perch earlier, NC0 returned to the nest at 9:41ish
The clumps of grass are appearing to be slightly bothersome to get into the nest cup
Off he went, hopefully to catch a fish
One of the eggs came out of the cup as NC0 moved her feet into the centre
She moved both of the clumps of grass to better positions on the edge of the cup before settling
She still wasn't comfy so changed her position
After a quick scroll through, I don't think a fish has been brought to the nest yet.
At 14:17ish, the cam zoomed in. Egg #1 is on the left (I think!)
Laddie left the nest
14:41 Laddie to the nest with a thin, twiggy stick. NC0 calling for a fish.
Cam zoomed in again
She left the nest
Laddie settled to incubate
From scroll back:
15:40ish Unseen intruder alert.
Just after 16:00, an attempt at mating. NC0's tail was up but I don't think Laddie could get a good position due to the strong wind
We're getting a better view of the eggs now that the clumps of grass have been moved
16:54 Laddie to the nest with twigs?
NC0 really wanting a fish now
