2021 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 21st March; NC0(16) - 25th March
Laddie and NC0 were an exceptional team during 2021, successfully raising two very feisty and well fed juveniles, LR1 and LR2. LR2 was sighted in Southern Spain on 3.9.21 and again on 25.10.21
2022 marks Laddie's 11th breeding year, NC0's 3rd, and very much hope that our wonderful pair have a safe, spring migration back to this stunning nest location at Loch of the Lowes.

19:55 NC0 shouting for fish!

20:10 Good grief, an absolute whopper of a fish from Laddie!
A celebratory wing flap, Laddie?
21:00 NC0 still on the birch
At 21:25, with Laddie still incubating and NC0 on the birch, two swans were swimming on the Loch behind the trees. One of them flapped across the water making a huge racket, reminiscent of when NC0 was incubating at almost the same time on the 17th but on this occasion it was going towards the inlet.
NC0 returned to the nest with the remainder of the fish, at 21:55
Cam zoomed in
NC0 ate some of her fish, Laddie looked on
NC0 released her grip from the fish and proceeded to the nest cup. Laddie flew off
She settled to incubate
00:05 Sleeping soundly.
I wonder what time in the morning Laddie will arrive and pick up the fish for his breakfast?
Laddie arrived just after 5:00 to collect his breakfish
He took it off the nest
Laddie came back with some of the fish at 6:20
NC0 headed off for a break
He released his grip of the fish close to the nest cup as he settled to incubate
NC0 on the birch
7:10 Laddie rose from incubating and decided to eat the fish (now mainly skin), taking it to the edge of the nest
He walked away after getting what he could from it and left the skin on the edge of the nest
Back to incubating
7:37ish NC0 came back to the nest to relieve Laddie. He wandered over to the fish skin and proceeded to tuck in
Laddie about to down the last bit after 20+ minutes of tackling it
Off he went at 8:05ish
8:44ish Laddie to the nest, chipping/mantling
Watchful
8:56ish When he was calm, Laddie flew off. No threat seen
