  • Clare! Stunning photos that bring us right there as if we were with you! Very timely, too, since I'm steeling myself for the withdrawal of osprey season, and migration of monarch butterflies here. Signalling fall and winter.

  • How nice to see you, CC! How have you been?

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Hi Clare, I have been fine but just lurking after this year's disappointment with the Loch Garten nest. Nearby me, within a drive, is an osprey platform and nest. I followed it this season, and it appears to be an established couple who successfully reared three fledglings! Many times I wished there had been a cam to follow them so I could see them inn their environment as well as into the nest. But I did find that the many years of watching on a cam gave me behavior and vocal cues that absolutely told me what was happening! I trust you and Limpy are well?

  • We're both fine and we're going to Scotland later this month. Can't wait!

  • YAY! You will have a good time! I love the fall.

  • Wonderful pics, Clare--thanks! Makes me very homesick for Rutland Water and the glorious Ospreys there. Lovely to think that Telyn/3J and many others have both Maya's and the much-missed 5R's genes.

    Kind regards, Ann

  • Simply terrific Clare - thank you so much for sharing
