3.9.21 - LR2 sighted in Southern Spain
25.10.21 - LR2 still in Southern Spain
As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.

No, not yet, Wendy
Lowes zoomed in on LR2 when he was shouting on the nest at around 14:30ish - perhaps the team were confirming his ring number?
A headless fish delivery by NC0 to LR2 at 15:23ish. She had been eating on the birch
He tried to shoo her off
She stood her ground
He tried again and it worked. NC0 flew from the nest
Cam zoomed in once again on LR2. I'll add snaps in my next post

LR2...
16:34ish A hawk? on the nest
LR2? (top left) flew from the far left branch of the birch, screeching, and chased it off. There were alarm calls just beforehand

Sparrowhawk. Well spotted Sandra. Knew you'd have posted it before I could but just to show I'm not slacking, well, much.

No he's not Wendy. I was quite surprised that he eagerly tucked into his first fish this morning after his 9+ hours 'eat-a-thon' yesterday!
21:12 Two on the birch and have been for a while. The one on the middle branch sounds like LR2, movement/stature and.calls suggest he may still be eating his fish. I'd imagine the other one, on the right, is NC0 on her favoured branch
