25.10.21 - LR2 still in Southern Spain
As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.
Both have been on the nest since the activities my previous post. There has been an osprey on the birch branch that has been frequented by NC0 since 19:20, though may have been on the far left one before that. I wonder if it is her?
Taken at 20:00 just prior to LR1 flying off the nest. Both shouting for fish

20:44 Osprey was still on the birch branch. Laddie with a fish for LR2, he had no competition to claim it.
Laddie left the nest and flew towards and then over the left side birch branch. There was a short vocalisation as he passed the other sitting osprey
A couple of minutes after receiving his supper, LR2 flew off with it and landed on the second branch from the left of the birch
21:16 The Osprey (possibly NC0?) on the right branch, flew off low to the left and beyond the birch. LR2 was still on his

When will NC0 leave?
I've only reported on the fish deliveries today due to having another commitment but, when scrolling through the footage this evening, this caught my eye.
At around 15:25ish, LR1 was on the nest quite wary. On hearing LR2 (who was on the birch) shouting and then making his way to the nest, LR2 began to shout, and mantle, as well
LR2 misjudged his landing onto the perch and clattered below it and off to the right side under the nest
Off below the nest, bottom right
He flew around behind the nest to reapproach it where he landed safely.
Shouting
All was calm after a few moments
Thank goodness no harm was done!

I've tried and tried, my eyes are streaming with the effort but I cannot find that.
Lots of amazing sights 'n sounds (ultra-screeching, crashes, etc), so video-worthy
Terrific coverage, SANDRA, we'll have to get a medal cast especially for your 2021 season

Good morning Scylla, Patily and all,
I'm now wondering if I got the timing calculation right for that event? Thank you so much for trying to find it, Scylla. Oh, and you're too kind...
7:25 A headless fish from Laddie. LR2 was on the nest, LR1 flew from the birch and landed in time for a fish battle. LR2 claimed it. LR1 'went' for Laddie again and he took flight
