3.9.21 - LR2 sighted in Southern Spain
25.10.21 - LR2 still in Southern Spain
As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.

LR2 had been waiting either on the perch or the nest itself since 19:47 His patience was finally rewarded at 20:52 with a headless fish from Laddie
21:00 He took it, and some nesting material, off the nest and landed on the second from left branch of the birch
I wonder if it was LR2 warning off corvids, Korky? Just over 5 minutes ago, he flew off from his branch on the birch and, after a short flight, headed lower into that area and out of view. Corvids were calling just beforehand
Good morning Patily and all
Laddie delivered a 'live' breakfish at 5:15ish. LR2 (75 days old) had flown from the birch and landed on the nest just prior to his dad's arrival
I've only had a quick scroll through but I can't find any appearance by LR1 (77 days old) as yet
7:43 Another fish, headless this time, for LR2 from Laddie
LR2 flapped at him
Shouting at corvids
He took it off nest
I must go. BFN

I've been sitting on this for about an hour! I was going to say "about 05:10", so it's nice that we're not too far out, but mine was a wild guestimate, hardly calculated.
I wonder where he took it?

Many thanks, Scylla! LR1 arrived on the nest just before 9:00 Laddie landed with a stick and not a fish as she was expecting.
9:26 She left the nest after spending time preening, generally looking around, resting and, of course, fish calling
Hopefully, she'll get a fish soon
