  • 10:35 FISH and Poor 33!!

096 waits as 33 arrives with a large fish

096, looking very hungry, moves to grab the fish and instead gets hold of 33's foot!!

096 pulls as does 33 to get free/away!!

096 keeps pulling and 33 is on the deck!

    and pulling

33 has to flap his wings and eventually gets free

and takes off leaving 096 on the nest with the fish

    and 096 soon tucking in

    Video:   33's leg pulled delivering fish to 096 @ 10:35 on 9 Aug 2021

  • Gosh Karen thank you for the report it looks brutal! 096 has certainly gone wild since his starvation! Hard to believe that he's hungry after yesterday's marathon eat!
No sign of Maya and 095 perhaps they have gone flying together!
Maya back on campost no sign of 095 yet!
  • Think 096 protecting fish from Maya! Lol
  • One of the worse leg pullings I've seen LAM!!

What a shame for 33 but amazing just how much the adults tolerate from their young!

Yes, it will be interesting when 095 arrives - will 096 fly off with the fish or give her it considering she delivered one to him yesterday lol

But it is nice, at last, to see 096 eating on the nest!

Must go out for a bit - Enjoy your day and will catch up soon. BFN
  • and as I am shutting down,

096 stands with the fish - no sign of 095 as yet

  • Intruder Maya off first 33 follows 096 off with fish! He manages to lap the bay with it and land on his perch! 33 is angry, perhaps the talon biting from 096 put him in bad mood! He has just attacked a cormorant which dived out the way and then just had a vicious attack on a great egret which was minding it's own business! Lol
  • Ha ha Karen what a leg pulling that was!! It is amazing how much they tolerate! But the poor cormorant and egret got it instead :-)

Thank you for the video and great coverage as we just missed it! 096 still balancing fish on perch so that should keep him happy all day! Can hear 095 calling but can't see her!
Thank you and you too have a nice day and hope to catch up again later with you.
  • 096 been having a couple of flights carrying his fish! He's attracted attention! Intruder came in and started dive bombing him on the perch! 33 and Maya took to the air and protected him! Don't mess with 33 today as he is still in a bad mood from the leg pulling incident :-) before this episode he dive bombed a grey heron who had a good go back at him!
  • 095 is getting desperate for some food now and is hinting very loudly to 33 but dad is sat in tree overseeing 096 eating. 095 has now moved into trees behind 096 so they can hear her! She is now on Maya's perch and Maya is sitting in the tree! Had a flight across water and back to nest another flight back to perch! She has itchy feet!
  • 095 just done practice fish dive! Aww is she getting ready for the off!
