Great report of a fish delivery at 10.11, SK2. The hand-over seemed relatively smooth. Having grabbed the fish she still nattered to him, although I'm afraid I don't beak-read ospreyish! She stayed for a minute before flying off at 10,12. After she had flown AX6 did some pottering, breaking up sticks, nest cupping and generally making this nest his own.
I was taken by how dark he is. If we hadn't already decided they were a couple and had the info from the breeder (I wonder who he was - Keith Brockie?), I think I would have taken him as a she!
He took off at 10.16
and returned at 11.08 for a short nestorising session
and took off again at 11.11
Kate pointed out the Female's head marking, from the back. Here is one from the front. As Kate said she is quite distinctive!
I don't think either has been back to the nest since then.... as I type there is a brief high fly-by, it's so quick I can't find it.
But as I was about to post at 13.41 AX6 lands on the nest, and mantles
and then did a crash landing on top of her. Female had her tail up ready and waiting, but AX6 just couldn't manage to cling on
He kept trying, I'm not sure whether it was successful or not. He lifted off and came down again, but gave up and flew off.
Mistle stayed, looking around and overhead. AX6 returned 13.51 a nd when he approached her, she appeared to give a warning, a peck, to stay away. He went submissive and did a low mantle.

AX6 has just returned and the female appears quite aggressive warning him off - flapping \ pecking at him!!
