Colin the intruder in Wales with a BTO R leg and no Darvic was thought to be female. Seen at Clywedog yesterday.
Maybe this could be the metal ringed female that has been fishing at Aviemore Ospreys the last couple of years and I think the metal ring looks different..
I have done a video, but not sure if anyone else has. Will upload it anyway. Some screenshots in the meantime
Oh it is so good to see an Osprey on this iconic nest.

An interesting question. I have seen females with less brown on their chests and males with more brown on their chests! If you remember Henry from the early 2000s we weren't sure what sex he was, so called RD who had ringed him as a chick to check his notebook - which said M? F? - so he wasn't certain when he ringed him. When he jumped on the female's back he answered our question for himself. As for this bird, its build seems fairly stocky - I would say 60:40 female. But, having said that, it was looking up for some time at the other Osprey. If the other Osprey was a displaying male why did she appear so agitated and not happy to allow the other bird to land? This might suggest the bird on the nest was male and was not happy with another male displaying above 'his' nest. I hope sincerely the issue will be solved by seeing this bird on the nest with another when comparison of size when they are side by side should give a much better indication.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
Whoever it is, they are defending the nest (or maybe their fish) LOL....

Any idea what time yesterday? Clwywedog to BOG is over 700 km as the Osprey flies. Some going in 1 day even with a tail wind!

Intruded at 13.02 yesterday. Scylla posted a highlights video on the Llyn Clwyedog thread on here at 11.17 last evening. The intruder visit starts about 1 min 55 seconds into that video. The ring looks different to the one on the bird at BOG.
Slo Mo video of Blue Ringed Osprey landing on nest just after Metal Ring took off.
