Just checked the live cam on the off-chance and look who's here (live snap !!! )

It turned out I had just caught him before he flew off - way away over the trees, just seen in the sky at top-right. He had flown in to protect the nest from an intruder, glimpsed flying over and causing 022 to flinch:
We had a visitor in sound only at lunchtime, it stayed 14 minutes:

04:55 the Nightjar flew in and perched inactively for 1m30s, the new web was especially dense last night:
No-one else seen up to 06:05.

This bit was slightly concerning - we'll just have to wait and see:

We had a squirrel on the nest early this morning - not for long, and it was too well camouflaged!
