Weekly Chat, Sunday, December 5, 2010

Hi everyone: Have a nice Sunday. Don't forget to catch up on last few entries of previous week - AQ is havng a hard time sleeping coz of the heat!!

Daughter here for the night; catch up tomorrow.  :-)

  • OG, love all the bird pictures, thanks very much. Super picture of the gull. Sorry your son suffers at this time of year.

Lynette, glad christmas is getting sorted slowly for you. Loads of time yet..... lol

Brenda, what a lovely day planned for tomorrow:) (apart from the shopping!) Hope it goes well.

AQ, glad the weather isn't too bad for you at the moment. I'll have a go at the brain teasers a little later.

Annette, sure it will look great when it's done. Isn't it always the way, the more you do, the more you HAVE to do:( Sorry about the telly. Panasonic are great (normally) and to have to wait that long for a part:( Enjoyed the description of the ocean:) I've been lucky enough to get that way a few times and there's something about that Coastline:)

Linda, enjoy the visit this weekend:)

Joan, hope the wrapping goes well and lunch sounds delicious! My tree is an artificial, pre lit thing. Doesn't take long to put up luckily!

    Paul, super photo's:)

  • thanks for all news pics etc. Still have cold so will not be going to help? or get in the way at senior citizens Christmas Dinner tonight but OH going along to wait on tables and I bet they all have a great time. I am really sorry to have to miss it but do not want to pass this on.

  • Morning All (oops, been on so long it's afternoon!)  It's all green and brown and wet here, I think I preferred it white and dry... Last week we didn't do much garen work because OH was getting snow down his neck, and I was getting cold waiting for him, this week the ground is too wet and the wind makes it feel colder, even though we are plus 5 or so.  Now, don't read on if you are doing AQ's quiz, but  I have to take "76 trombones led the big parade"!

Paul, well done on the tree sparrows, love their cheek patches.

Alan, best wishes flying to Hamish today.

More lovely bird pics, OG, I have the robin on desktop just now.

  • Good afternoon Alan have been thinking of Hamish today and I so hope all is well and you get that phone call soon.

Much warmer here today, probably the same temperature as you have.  All the ice has gone from the garden for now but have just seen the weather forecast for next week and looks like the cold will be coming in again.  Hope Lady P enjoyed her shopping trip with daughter.

  • Good afternoon DjoanS pleased you liked the card as did many others it appears.  Glad to read you have a thaw at long last but i wonder whether it will all go before the next Arctic blast comes in nest week.  Your lunch sounded delightful and just right in this weather.  Again today the birds are not quite so frantic for food today so have not had to go and top their trays up so much.  Today has been about bathing for the sparrows and starlings.  I fill their baths up with luke warm water at the moment, how daft can I get LOL.

  • Lovely pic of the sparrow Heron77 they are just so lovely to watch.  What has amazed me though this cold weather is the way they sign their heads off all day long.  I wonder does it help keem them warm.  Always brings a smile to my face when I go in the garden and my singing tree (as I call it) is in full swing.  Hope the thaw carries on for you.  best wishes to you and have a good weekend.

  • Good afternoon LIndybird and trhilled you will be able to see Tomasz again this weekend.  More cuddles.

I have the same round by bird baths, blocks of ice where I poured warm water on to defrost them and then refilled them with warmish water for their baths.  Your starlings must have enjoyed their own personal steam room.

Have to say I was horrified at what happened in London yesterday.  Given all students a bad name when it is just a minority who are hell bent on causing mayhem and damage.  What a bad inpression the tourists got when some of them went on the rampage down Oxford Street.  What  lucky escape for Charles and Camilla, could have been even worse.  Think heads will roll over this but when the police were as stretched as they were very difficult to keep order.

  • Good afternoon BrendaH have probably missed you but I am envious that you are going to see the Nutcracker.  Have a lovely time and I am glad London will not be as it was yesterday for you.  Ehnjoy your shopping beforehand and safe journeys to you.

  • Hi Lynette glad you liked the ecard, I am not sure what site it came from as one of my friends sent it to me.  She had received it from one of her friends and it has been doing the rounds.  It could be a Jaquie Lawson  ecard as as Annette has suggested.

Weather dull today but a bit warmer, making the most of it before it turns cold again as they are promising on the weather forecast today.
