Ah. Lovely to meet you, Lynette & Dibnlib. [Pics on previous week's thread.]
Gorgeous pics of snow Wendy, Alicat & Osprey. But I bet you are not thinking "lovely"!!! My nearest to snow was some grey slushy roadside stuff in Tasmania 40 years ago.
Tiger I think I have Gary’s puzzle solved. Alas I can only award you 2½ out of 5 on the brain teasers. I was being diabolical this week. Until Friday then . . .
Linda Successful shrunk pics. The walker’s seat - what a wonderful way to remember someone.
Oh no, Auntie, minus temps already.
Alan Love your intermittent "busy pics", the shivery one, the dreaded leaf blower & the migration.
A bit shivery here today, expecting 20 C max again. I’m not complaining. A quiet day for me. Yesterday I helped Dau2 washing, wiping, cleaning, etc as per her list. G-kids did minimum possible. Brats. After lunch Dau & Sil went shopping while I guarded the fort. I think they were out longer than necessary but I don’t begrudge them that. The brats are really rude & unhelpful. GS greeted me with "what are you doing here?" Hello and nice to see you too! They spoke to their mother on Skype - what a lot of complaining & false info. Grumbling that Sil put passwords on computers. Well Miss14 did abuse the privilege. She is proud of doing badly in final exams. Alas these days kids don’t repeat a year at school. It seems it is more important to stay with peer group than to acquire knowledge. I just don’t understand them. Sorry. Rant over. I’ll go and read Linda’s answers again to put me in a better mood with some giggles.
While I was so engrossed with my post the sky has gone pretty dark and hate to say it but it looks a bit like a snow filled sky, keeping my fingers crossed this does not happen.
Margobird
Margobird: Sounds as though you had a great weekend, hope to get to London in the New Year as youngest wants to see Warhorse. Pleased you enjoyed your whisky mac...if it was the really scottish one no "e" if from Ireland or the states with an "e".
Plan for coming to Inverness is probably a good one although Easy Jet charges for luggage. Youngest travels light as with more luck than judgement she leaves most of her wardrobe here.
Had a nice walk to my bridge (pictues later) via my neighbour who makes better coffee than Starbucks. By the time we had put the world to rights it was snowing again on the way back met old Colin local farmer and helped him and others get some cooo's from fieid to steading (barn). They looked totally fed up.Nioce farmer got me some milk and a real newspaper.
Since then we have another 3" which I have shifted from drive and paths, I know I am not going anywhere but it is easier to do it in small doses.
Luckily we still have power and I have just lit my woodburner.
First picture is The Ballindalloch old railway bridge over the Spey at lunchtime today. This one is a view up river towards the Cairngorms.
old Colin's cooo's before it snowed on them again!!
WencyB I thought I had spelt that wrong, brain addled as it is so cold. Probably nowhere near as cold as it is with you. Pleased you still have power, I really feel for those who have none. I just wonder now how much snow Scotland is going to get. Looking at the forecast earlier it is not going to improve for a while yet. Nice you have a farmer who got your paper and milk. Good thing there is still a community spirit in parts.
Anolther nice pic, all looks so fresh and clean.
Margobird: I hate dirty snow, when it gets dirty it is time it went. old Colin says it will change on Wednesday,he failed to say which Wednesday.
Poor things they are knee deep in it. Did you say they have come in now.
Wendyb that is a brilliant pic of The Ballindalloch old railway bridge over the Spey. Love the way you have franed the view, stunning views.
