OG I am pleased to say Benson did take us for a walk.

OG: You've hit upon the key issue. There is no one to remove Trump. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs (the U.S.'s top military general) has told Congress that the military will not remove him or be involved in any election dispute. The Supreme Court is now stacked with Republicans, 3 of which are Trump's own appointees. They won't rule against him. The police departments are Trump supporters; they will defend him, not remove him. The Secret Service has issued no assurances that they would remove him. There is no institutional body that would remove him if he refuses to concede and submit to an orderly transfer of power.

I so hope you will all be safe from the virus!

OH - I agree with your remarks about the transfer of the virus when folks travel around. (Of course, I wouldn't have dreamt of taking it to Wales when we went, but then we were most unlikely to be carriers as we've led such a sheltered life this year!) I keep shouting at the TV when they come out with the figures re infections & deaths, as I blame all of those who have been socialising in various ways. Bah!! My rant over...

My day today.....

I'm planning a day like that tomorrow ... busy day today. Wet, windy and miserable outside, but I had to go out first thing. Lovely drive down country lanes with lots of trees which were beautiful even in the miserable weather. Would have been better in the sunshine, though.

I'm wondering how our new lockdown starting on Thursday is going to change things for all of us. I get the impression many people have been staying at home most of the time, with the odd venture out into the big wide world. Personally, I will find this time more difficult than the first lockdown, because the weather is horrible and I won't be able to get outside as much as I did then. I had lots of projects in my head at the start of the first lockdown - they're still there. Will I actually complete any of them? Er ...

Pat, yes, it's not going to be the same as 1st time around. We did lots of gardening then, plus sitting in the garden, reading etc. So now we're worried we won't be as active, and are discussing where we can go for walks....

Glad you enjoyed your country drive. It's a lovely time of year to admire the trees. Someone locally to us put online a super picture of a rainbow two days ago, in the sunshine here.

We had a Woodpecker on our feeders this morning, and yesterday a visit from this chap-

LINDA - Fashions on the Field are virtual this year. Participants asked to send in a photo of themselves dressed in their finery at home on front lawn.

I planned to wash Saturday’s second load this morn (rain threatened then but did not eventuate). After hanging, next plan was to visit a library for a stash of books to read when I am grounded. OH said “what about the lawn man?” Oh drat, I couldn’t have him dodging the towels hanging on our rotary clothes hoist (so old that it no longer hoists) in the middle of the lawn. Wash postponed until tomorrow when it will be even warmer. I am just home with 6 books on a variety of topics – Aussies that fought in US Confederate War, an outback nurse, animal navigation, another about “adventure & love” in Prague – I do choose a variety!!! Lawn man has arrived.

It was very warm in the car, though only 29 C. I shall send some warmth & sunshine UpOver.
