Weekly Chat, Sunday, October 24, 2010

It is that time for a new thread again. We continue from  Weekly Chat, Sunday, October 17, 2010 Last week had so many fascinating topics I am not sure what should be carried forward.

It was such an eclectic mix, my  memory is of birthdays, bears, steam engines, hedgehogs, hummingbirds, osprey pictures, computers,  relativity, quantum mechanics and cats of  all types. No doubt it will be repeated in the week to come.

Oh I forgot. Outlaws and inlaws! :)

  • Hi Annette how right you are about living life to the full and also enjoying good health.  I must admit I am ver worried about my friend's OH.  He has lost an awful lot of weight since I last saw him and looks so ill.  I am praying now that nothing nasty if found on his xrays.  Terrible worry for my friend as she is blind and he does such a lot for her.  She does have a good family living very close to her and I know they will be helping and supporting her.

I must admit I did enjoy Branston's company during the evenings.  He just loves his carrots and the farmer said he will miss having a supply of carrots to hand everytime he visits the cottage I stayed in.  Wonder what the new occupants think, hope they have some carrots for him.

  • Good evening Alan  what a fascinating little bird she is.  That nest is beautiful and she is so busy all the time.  Love the fact that you can hear the hum when she arrives.

  • End of another sunny day – will rain tomorrow as I am going to hairdresser!  Son phoned today – sounds much more chirpy.  Talking of chirpy, several Blue Tits were in the Willow this morning, just outside the study window, having fun in the sun and catching insects.  Been trying to complete several little charity quizzes which have been sitting in my action tray – done 3 out of 5!

AQ – strange menu for your meal out, but important thing is that you enjoyed the get-together – and again Sunday!  Look forward to wedding venue pics, but still enjoying Port Augusta!  Amazing variety of plants for such a dry area.  Xanthorrhoea sounds more like a disease!  I love Hibiscus – great leaf shape as well as flowers – and good contrast with plants around it there.

Margo – welcome back.  So sorry about all your worries –but pleased you had plenty of four-legged company at the end of the week!  Unfortunate that the preview screen doesn’t suit you – hope you can get one with a viewfinder at a reasonable price.

Joan – great pictures again of great views again, thanks.

Alan – really enjoying Phoebe again – came to her earlier this season, so more interesting than what I saw last year!  Where did your signature go?!!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Annette  I may be a Scorpio and thus my birthday is due but it won't be my 70th! :) :) :)

dibnlib   That picture of Alfie is just amazing. Looks like a real pampered dog.

Djoans   I love the picture of the lighthouse.

  • May I be first to say "Happy Birthday TIger" - whenever it is?

    And to everyone else, Goodnight!

Hey Tiger, where d'ya get those :)

LOL Dibnlib love the pic of Alfie, it's brilliant. Reminds me of a great friend of ours who has a boxer called Mad Maisie. :) Hope Alfie gets better soon by the way. Shouldn't laugh really but couldn't help it.

  • Dibnlib and Margo. Sorry to hear you have been going through it recently. Big hug to you both and hope better times are just around the corner.

Thank you. Two clues as to the actual date. I never mention my birthday in the 10 days before it. So that makes it later than November 4. If one really wants to find it then it is on my profile at Delphi! :)

I will now not mention my birthday again until the day!
