Hello all, just popped in a day late from the start of the week. Thanks Diane for starting us off.

HeatherB - just read that you have been a bit down but as you say, you must think of all the blessings that you have and will get with your family. Keep thinking those positive thoughts.

Harelady - I think I know what you mean, - you see something on the tele relating to a close relative and it really gets to you as they are no longer with you. Just occasionally I get tat feeling when I hear of a prem baby surviving from being born under the gestation period and surviving. Unfortunately there was not the knowledge that they have now back in the 1970's when we lost our dau.. but then went on to have another one and am blessed.

AQ - love the old gateway to the veg market. It looks slightly chinese in orientation.

Lindybird - well done your OH for doing a roast dinner. Afraid I can't get mine to do anything like that.

OG - hope you had a relaxing day.

Lindy - love the poem and have copied it to a file - just makes you stop and think of all the blessings around us instead of the negative thoughts. we so often convey.

Annette - glad to hear your visit went well, as always traffic can be a problem but see you are now home.

OG - That's a lovely thought. Despite all our troubles we always come through and carry on.

Its been dry here the last few days but a bit nippy. Always leave heating regulator at a certain temperature for the daytime in the autumn/winter/spring period so it comes on automatically if the temp dips below what is set.

Thanks for youir news so far this week. Stay strong, safe , and well and keep counting those blessings.

Lynette - My OH started off years ago, taking charge of the actual meat being roasted. Then eventually I taught him my method of doing roast potatoes. Now he's capable of producing a complete roast dinner! And sometimes, he does! He's never made Yorkshire pudding, though, and anyway these days we usually cheat & have bought, frozen ones as it's easier when there are only 2 of you.

OG, I wrote a reply about the heating this afternoon but because I was on the tablet pc, it wouldn't post: we had turned down the thermostat during the evening as it was too warm while watching tv. We can't stand any heat in the bedroom and even have a window open unless it's blowing a gale. But the boiler is on a timer and comes on in the mornings at 6.30am. according to how high it's been turned up. :-)

Evening all:   Followed OG's (and OH's) advice today and did not much other than tossing in two loads of laundry and making (short!) list of things that need doing.    Much cooler here this week.  Thanks all for posts......

Put “eat chocolate” at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you’ll get one thing done.
