Whoops. Got busy with one thing and another and forgot it was Saturday night. Anyway, will catch up tomorrow. Take care all.
Joan - I bet using a leek just newly in from neighbour's garden would have been part of why your soup was so great. That, and the cook, of course!
Lynette D said: www.youtube.com/watch?.. This connection takes you to YouTube, then put in - Squirrels at Abernethy and that will take you to the list. Video is there as have just tried it with this link. I've tried emailing the link to me and posting it here but it won't , so can't think of any other way unless those who are technically minded amongst you can tell me how I do it???? Anyway if you want to see the squirrels , this was videoed yesterday.

Lynette, this link should take you to the squirrels (I hope!)

The way I do it, is to get the video up and playing on youtube, then copy the whole link in the address bar, then paste into the blog.

HeatherB - it would be the leek rather than the cook, I can assure you!!!
I have just looked at the LotL camera and there was a beautiful jay there briefly .. they never stay very long!
EDIT - and just to make me out a liar, it came back and has been there for a few minutes ... joined briefly by a second one!!!
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

Whew! Been busy today, so going to sit down with a glass of wine soon.
Lovely pics everyone especially georgeg's ones of Vane Farm. So tranquil.
Gary: You may have missed my news that we are to be grandparents for the first time, in November. My son & wife have not asked to be told of the sex of the child, nor have they decided on possible names yet, so I have nicknamed The Bump "'Sweetpea" - I also fully expect that I shall call the baby this, when he/she arrives! (I am sooo excited at the prospect, already!)
Hoping for some dry weather this weekend, so we can tidy up the garden.
An extra bit, as I have now found some posts I must have missed, just now....
DjoanS - that soup sounds just wonderful - I can even smell it!
Alicat: Hope that Casper continues to improve now.
Alan: So sorry to hear how poorly your sis. in law is - pneumonia can be very serious even these days. Lovely pic of the Raccoon Dog.
Thanks Lindybird

lg stats
Weather improved. Soup and sandwich lunch was very good – OH also had cheesecake, and I had just three forkfuls of it. Bought all we went for – and more, as always, including three new fish and some new plants for our tank. Very tired. Just had nice salad for our evening meal. A few brief replies.
Terry – pleased the gingerbread won for you – and your shortbread too, well done!
Diane – should you be moving heavy furniture with your bad back?! I hope Pete’s Pond does return – it was good.
Lindy – I hope you have success booking a holiday.
Alan – I do hope for better news soon about your poor SiL.
Cirrus – thanks for confirming that you were the middle one in the photo.
Brenda – hadn’t realised you were having all the visitors together. Pleased you (and the boyfriend) were able to feel relaxed. What is the Blue Tit’s red growth associated with – is that a symptom of trichomonisis (?sp)
Gary – enjoy your Mum’s visit – who looks after her dog? (I remember him in the snow last winter!)
George –thanks for pics of Vane Farm – will be up that way a weekend at end of October.
Joan – great captures of Jays. Naughty birds, but I love them - they used to bury Acorns in our previous garden.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Evening all - Thanks to all for pics and posts, enjoyed them very much. I look forward to this, a great bunch of people.
Bit busy, getting ready for our Canadian visitor and the family weekend. Shopping missions completed, that is really the worst bit for me and most of us, I suspect.
Alan, hope that Lady P's sister improves soon.
George - Great pictures of Vane farm.
Diane - It doesn't matter what you tell us about your home, your land, the wildlife that you ?entertain - it really stimulates my imagination.
Alicat - Happy to hear that Casper is better.
I hope that Margobird is enjoying her holiday.
Cirrus - We don't have twelve matching dining chairs :-(( We collect them from all over the house and if desperate, from the attic---- (and believe me, you'd need to be desperate if you had to use them---)
'Night, all.
Evening all. Haven't been on for a few days but have just caught up with all the news.
Alicat Hope Casper's cyst doesn't fill up again. Hell has/had one under he skin near her shoulder. Vets had emptied it a couple of times and it had filled up again. Then one day recently I discovered it was no longer 'feelable' - just hope it's OK.
Alan Your poor SiL is having a bad time. We all tend to think that antibiotics have made illnesses like pleurisy and pneumonia trivial but that's certainly not the case. Her system must be tired aad low. Hope she'll soon turn the corner towards full health.
Thanks to all who have posted pics and links. How wonderful to see a pine marten. We'll have to watch our feeders when we're in Nethy Bridge at the end of the month.
Off to compete in'doggy' things tomorrow and Sunday. Hope to 'see' you all in next week's chat.
Good grief. Thought I'd posted something yesterday but apparently not - now have masses to catch up on but no time this afternoon and will probably be too knackered this evening. Have been moving piles of mulch around for the last two days and still have to go to gym and the rose garden! So if I don't get back tonight, will try to catch up Saturday morning our time...
