I wonder what today will bring? Will they decide to go fishing or head off south? I guess it's wait and see time....again.
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Two calling in unison. One off nest. I like the one-legged yoga position while Quackers keeps an eye on all around and shrieks.

I'm always amused by the yoga - EJ does it a lot when her feet hurt from being on the nest so long. I must go out again now - 'see' you later.....

YES - :) It's our middle juvie :)
Well, I'm answering your post without having the camera on - it's better for my heart that way but I do periodically look at the nest.
I took my eye off the ball and now we have ENS and no calling off nest. I am sure I recall reading that osprey do not naturally stand, that they are used to sitting on a branch with the talons grasping the boughs. Thus it is uncomfortable for them to sit on the base of the nest where it is flat. Standing on one leg gives relief. I'm afraid I cannot stay with it today. Meeting friends for lunch and then blood doning! Hope they don't mind an alcoholic dilution.
Morning SheilaFE what you recall about ospreys standing is correct as I read that somewhere. That explains the yoga positions.
Have a good lunch and well done for being a blood donor, I used to be but not anymore since I had a blocked artery. I am sure alcoholic dilution will be fine LOL.
Margobird
Cirrus good morning. I am doing the same just looking in now and then and sound turned down. Don't want to come over as miserable as I was yesterday when the youngsters were on the nest such a lot and coninuously calling. I was so pleased to read that Odin was around, quite made my day.
Thank you Margobird. I've been doning/donoring.. since I started work and now have my gold badge. I'm quite proud of it actually. It doesn't take much time, I have no after affects (other than rushing to get a tube immendiately after doning, and nearly fainting) and feel it is a worthwhile thing to do.
I have learned such a lot over the past three years of watching these blogs and comments, for which I thank everyone. I now have three books to read over the winter - Roy Dennis (A life of ospreys), David Gessner (Return of the Osprey which covers New England birds) and Philip Brown (The Scottish Osprey). I just hope some of it remains in the old grey matter!! We still have a quiet nest and no noise off-nest.
SheilaFE thanks for telling me about the other books about ospreys. Will get them on my Christmas list. I do have Roy Dennis' book which I am taking away with me when we go on holiday to Cornwall a week Saturday. I will probably have to read it several times for everything to sink in. Memory definitely not what it was. Hope you have a good lunch and it is a worthwhile thing to do.
ChloeB just caught up with the remainder of yesterday's posts. Just loved your picture with caption, very good. Good to have some lighthearted moments while we wait for the two youngsters to leave.
It is eerily quiet and has been for a while. Could they have gone fishing.
