The calm after the storm of recent days.

A good and safe journey to them all and successful fishing for the youngsters.

Just looked in on the ghostly and quiet nest....  Strange, as Chloe says,  to think its quiet now and calm after the storm of all that noise.

Evening everyone.  I have been following events with avid interest since my arrival back from hols last Friday.  Things are more or less at a close now for this season and like Tiger I am already thinking ahead to next season.  Its been great to follow EJ and Odin's superb partnership with the wonderful success of another three healthy juvenile ospreys fully prepared for the next stage of their lives. I will be visiting LG on Saturday to coincide with Steed's Harley Davidson rally as part of Thunder in the Glens - specifically timed to ensure minimum noise disruption for the osps I think - so although it is unlikely that any ospreys will be around, I will pop in and say hello to the LG team whilst in the area.  I have ordered a 'tatty' copy of Phillip Brown's book which was referred to several weeks ago and on here earlier today. If it grips me in the way I suspect it will, I will endeavour to source a better quality copy in the future.  Although not a keen reader of novels, I love reference books.  Nice to see some new contributors on here and the good natured community banter from all the regulars is absolutely superb.  Take care all.  Will look in again tomorrow before heading north on Friday and presumably we will all be back to chatting on the Weekly update and other threads from next week once confirmation has been received that the osps have gone.  'See' you tomorrow.  Emma

Just catching up with the updates.  Thanks for the info on the pic | posted of XE, it just said posted June so assumed it was this year.  It is in the gallery of the RSPB Operation Osprey page on Facebook.

So pleased to see that there have been no sightings or back to the nest today.  Let us all hope and pray that the juves have left and that Odin will follow suit now.  God speed and safe journey.

Will have to look into getting a mug with a pic on of ospreys or one of ours. Thanks for links.

BTW watched the programme on Mountain Gorillas too, fasinating.

Thanks so much for the link to the mug company Alicat.  And no, after an early morning session of youngsters on the nest not a one to be seen for the rest of the day (thank goodness)   Very good news indeed :)  I personally think they finally took Odin 's advice, followed him to the Spey (or wherever)  and like good young Osps practiced their fishing .
