Hi, it was a day of misery for the two chicks. With EJ gone and it looks like Odin has gone too, there were no deliveries of fish yesterday.
Nature is playing its part. It is time the two juves went fishing for themselves or else start on their migratory journey. Odin has obviously felt it is time to kick start these two into foraging for themselves. If confirmed he is gone by the LG team it will be about the same time as last year.
The weather sounds foul at LG at the moment so hope they are sheltering safely somewhere.
Only time and a new day will tell us what is happening.
Over to the early morning team and thanks to all of you in California, Australia, Finland, and elsewhere for keeping us updated.

...and still the calling continues, with intermittant silence. Titch is now looking over the back of the nest and Quackers remains on her position, looking occasionally at her feet, and has now joined Titch at the back of the nest. He has spotted something below as his head moves from side to side to focus. Now both looking to the right as the wind fluffs up the feathers. All is quiet.

Good morning all and thanks for the chat and pics, some of which are so sad, especially when it was so wet. Have only just logged and didn't want to hear what I did hear. Sure there were 2 youngsters calling. Hard as it is to watch this is nature and we cannot interfere. I am sure that they both will go shortly and hopefully miss the bad weather we are expecing again in the South tomorrow. I will say though that i think that Odin is magnificent. You only have to look at the number of fish he delivered at the most important stage of the youngsters lives. We can't presume to know what is best for the youngsters, EJ has left and now looks as though Odin has also departed. Hunger surely will kick the instinct in to go fishing eventually. they must have a lot of fat reserves as they were so well fed right up to the day of EJ's departure. I did find it upsetting to watch but keep telling myself this is nature and we cannot interfere with it. As I type they are both on tne nest again at 12.07. Looks a bit windy but dry at least, would think these would not be too bad conditions for them to set off. We can only hope and pray now that they will start migration shortly.

Lynette Happy Anniversary to you and your oH and also Happy Birthday to him.
I've just come on... they are both calling plaintively, on the nest....
Hi Lindybird I find it incredibly sad to watch and listen.
Oh dear, Titch (I think) picked up something from the nest, and immediately 'tother chick took an interest, as if to say 'was that a wee snack, possibly?' Off goes one chick, oh dear, I've lost track of which is which now, sorry. We have a solitary chick now, sitting quietly looking towards the trees.
Now echoing each other, as one in tree and one on nest.... (Titch?)
I have decided it is Titch who remains on the nest and Quackers is calling from afar.
Back comes Quackers, with Titch ever hopeful. Both calling with a bit of furniture moving as well...
Here they are, looking for scraps - anything! sooo hungry!
