  • Tiger, I think Odin. last brought in a fish around 4pm on Friday

  • Hi Cirrus i have order my mug now which picture have you used

  • Eerily quiet, has Odin gone and the youngsters have to start fending for themselves now???? Who knows, it will all unfold in the next few hours.

  • Hi Alicat - and very many congrats  - I've been online this am to Snapfish and my mug has been despatched  !  Of course it won't arrive tomorrow  !! but i'm hoping by Wednesday. I have  three 7x5 prints (one of each ) arriving too . My mug is a collage of the  three pics ( 2 of Tigers and One of Diane's) . What did you choose.

Forgive the off topic please everyone but after all .... my EN blues are lifted at the thought of my mug arriving. (Hope that's not sad  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   ) And there' s nowt to look at and comment on ,

  • Just caught up with yesterday now and thanks for the commentary and pics.

Good morning Cirrus thanks for that capture of the two siblings together.    I find it quite upsetting to see them still looking for a fish but if Odin too has gone I am sure that instinct to go fishing will kick in as they get more and more hungry.  Did manage to see the two of them earlier on the nest but I guess these sighting will become less and less.  Keep telling myself it has been a good season for EJ and Odin again with three healthy youngsters who couldn't wish for better parents but still a big lump in the throat that ENS for real will set in soon.

  • I have just been looking back at 2008. Then it was Nethy and Deshar that were left home alone.

The last fish was delivered by EJ at 10.30am on 14th August. Nethy was last seen on 17th August at 6.34pm and Deshar  was last seen at 7.45pm on 19th August.

So Nethy stayed around for over 2 days and Deshar for 5. However as they were tracked we do know that they learned to fish.

    For data see  http://www.osprey2005.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/LG_2008.jpg

  • Could this morning be the last sighting of the remaining juves -  Odin does look to have gone too but obviously that will have to be confirmed officially.

As I type I heard a faint chirrup so no, maybe they are still around.

  • Yes, Margo - I keep saying similar things to myself too. But my crop just gets engorged at this time of the season with so much lack   :(

Thanks for that Tiger. I remember Deshar heading out over the North Sea to start with. That was a heart stopping moment.  And since his Demise, I particularly loathe East winds.

Here's wishing Osprey everywhere , North winds to blow south and West winds to help steering .

Cirrus i have chosen the one with the fish were they seem to be looking at each other, i have gone to a shop near were i live they seem to be reasonable i have also printed them off my self and framed them along with one i took on my moblie phone taken i think in april before the eggs i posted it on the site on saturday did you see it

  • Cirrus.  It might  have been better if Deshar had continued out across the North Sea. He would almost certainly have reached Germany and possibly been alive today. There was a young chick which took the Deshar route in the past and did reach Africa.
