  • Thanks for that tale, Tiger.  I'm off to the Dentist now - back later..

  • Morning all and thanks for the earlier reports and pics. So it looks like we may be down to two juves now and they wont hang around if Odin has gone as well as EJ. We shall see as the day enfolds.

  • Does anyone know when Odin last brought in a fish?

Also note that if we had not tracking last year we would be much more concerned about the fate of these chicks right now.

I have heard it said that Eric at Loch of The Lowes used to take off and leave the chicks. Henry was a big softy in the respect that he always stayed and saw the chicks away. Indeed in 2006 he came back a week later.

Didn't one of Roy Dennis's tracked males also start migration and then go back to the nest? Possibly Nimrod but I am not certain.

  • Good morning all and a bit of a lump in the throat day now it seems fairly certain EJ has left and also that the youngsters have not had a fish now since EJ left.  I found it hard watching them yesterday when they were obviously screaming for a fish.  If Odin has gone then I hope they will soon realise that it is up to them to try for a fish.  Thanks for all the pics of the youngsters and perhaps by the end of this week we will be ospreyless.  Comes round so quickly and such a big gap for me when they have gone.  Wishing the whole family a safe journey with plenty of fish on the way.   Off to catch up with yesterday's chat now as I didn't log in again after the morming.

  • One screeching GEM on nest and I can hear the other one somewhere in the background.  Wonder if there is an intruder around.

  • Now two on tne nest calling I wonder how long it is going to take them to realise that Mum and Dad are not around anymore to serve up fish.
