Hi everyone.
Thanks for all the great posts, pics, videos etc on yestarday's Daily Update. Seems like it was a momentous day at LG on Monday. Perhaps EJ has set off on another migration to Africa. If so her last appeance on the LG nest in 2010 was something to behold. It was almost as if she was saying: "See you later." to the magnificant Odin, and perhaps even us viewers. She deserves to play to the camera though. She's an absolute star. Can't wait to see her next spring.Rain falling at LG now. Who knows what dramas today will hold.
I'm starting to feel tired, so I'll fly off to roost.
Paul.

Alan this is very unusual, as you say, but it is keep us fully entertained. I swear I can hear noises from the Centre, but perhaps it's the flies! He is off again after a chirrup or two, but I restrain myself to say he is gone...
Perhaps I should hold fire in pressing the post button!.... Well if that is it, he has been around since 12.45pm. On no, back again with a chirrup and another moss covered branch. Bless him.

I don't remember this kind of behaviour at the end of a season either ... but it makes great viewing!
EDIT - now standing surveying his world.
I agree, wonderful viewing. Monarch of all he surveys
Bit of an unexpected treat to see so much of Odin at this late stage. Handsome as ever and he looks in fantastic condition for the mighty voyage ahead:
We have an empty nest at present.... will he be back, will our afternoon continue to be captivating, will the juveniles return..... So many questions.
EN............... I see nobody is saying if he will return.................
Here we go again
Good afternoon all and thanks for all the pics, many of them saved. Managed to see some of the "Odin" one man show and isn't great having him to ourselves without noisy GEM's or EJ giving him a peck to go fishing. Would have seen more if I hadn't fallen asleep. I don't remember behaviour like this last season. It seems as though he is is laying claim to the nest already for next year. He is such a nandsome bird and he is back again arranging the nest bless him. He does look a bit bewildered as to where his noisy family have gone.Perhaps he has enjoyed his season so much he wants to start all over again but that is not a good idea Odin.
