Hi everyone. It was a fun packed day yesterday. More deliveries in the morning. Odin coming with a bunch of sticks later on in the morning and then on and off screeching juves and EJ and Odin delivering fish.
We really do appreciate the early morning shift which often reports fish deliveries when we are still in bed. Thanks to all our overseas watchers.
Looking forward to another day ............ what will it bring today!!
See you all in the morning, God Bless, and happy watching.

Well, it's difficult to tell in the sunshine, but I guess that's EJ on the nest. She has waited and waited for someone to come and take the fish she just brought in, but no one has appeared. So she has decided to eat it herself.
Very quiet at the nest; I can't hear any other ospreys about.

Does anyone recall when EJ and Odin left last year? Where has the summer gone?
Annette: I believe that Odin was last seen on 22 August, and EJ migrated on 27 August. Last year may have been atypical; I don't have all the data in front of me from prior years.
Right now, EJ is happily eating her fish and looking about for her children.
Eldest came and grabbed EJ's fish. Odin delivered a fish and Titch got that one. So all 5 birds have been seen and all have had a good feed. EJ got to eat quite a bit before "ungrateful" grabbed her fish
I had to get the report in for the day people now I really must go to bed.
Nite!!

Well, that was an ugly sight. This juvenile flew in screeching and tried to yank EJ's fish out from under her. Her talon was caught in it, and the juve pulled her leg out straight to get the fish loose. Poor EJ looked a little intimidated and flew off.
Then another juvenile landed on the tree and threw a screaming hissy fit at the one with the fish, who mantled and wouldn't relinquish it.
As Barbara Jean reported, then Odin delivered another fish for the screecher. Odin left quickly, not wanting any part of the scene.
Ah, oh, Now there are 2 fish and 3 ospreys, and the juve without a fish is making his displeasure known -- loudly.
This one (#2?) gets a Gold Medal in the "Screeching on One Leg" competition.
#1 calmly finished its fish. The other one stalked around the nest screaming, tried to pinch the fish and was rebuffed, decided to throw around a huge stick in its frustration, and then flew away in a huff.
I've been blithering around on the weekly page. Tune into nest just in time to see back end of someone disappear <sigh>
