Hi all,
Its was a day of action again, stealing of fish from EJ and Odin, Odin trying to get fish off EJ, GEMs trying to get in on the act, its was all happening yesterday.
We learnt that one youngster had fished for himself and indeed two might have learnt for themselves but that is not confirmed.
Will today see more action or will it be a quiet day. Thanks to all who open up the posts in the middle of our night and keep us going so we know what has been happening. Even in the wee small hours when most of us here are in our beds you let us know whats been happening.
There were some fantastic pictures yesterday - keep it up team - we love them and can't have enough of them.
This is the nest at 12.16am. Over to the night shift.

I was very pleased yesterday to read that at least one chick has learned to fish.
Now that one is fishing the others may follow it to the river or fish Farm. If it was the Eldest who caught his own fish he seem to give courage to the others not only to fly, but to stand tall and defend the nest.
I have felt that at times Odin and EJ fish together, because they often deliver fish within minutes of each other.
It would be magical if the family went fishing together before they leave .
We have seen examples of rudimentary emotions displayed in these Ospreys. Anger and frustration as the chicks struggled to learn new skills; contentment or pride in Odin as he sat on HIS eggs or viewed his newly hatched off spring.
So if they do have some form of emotions then EJ and Odin must have felt some satisfaction or happiness to see one of their young ones bring in it's own fish.
Dawn is breaking. I hear someone calling in the background , but the nest is empty

Titch just came and took the left over fish that was on the nest. He flew away with it. He grabbed it like an adult and had no problem flying with it . He even grabbed it so the head would be pointing forward as he flew.
Now Eldest is on the nest scrounging for left overs . He found some small left over pieces and is eating them .
Middle just showed up , but the two early birds got the left overs. Once again Middle is without a fish.
Here comes Odin with a fish and Middle got it!! Eldest is sizing up his chances to pinch it . He is checking the space under Middles tail to see if he can get under there to grab it LOL Middle just flew off with the fish!!
Eldest is shocked and grumbling that the fish is gone . He was still in the process of planning his attack when Middle flew away with it . LOL
Now Eldest flew off .
Odin was probably pleased that Middle was closer and got it rather than Eldest. At least Middle doesn't take his leg off while grabbing the fish.
Titch is back rearranging twigs and calling for more fish . He had nearly a half a fish Now he flew off too
I can see him soaring around in the distance :)
Here is EJ with a fish and Titch comes racing to the nest to get it . He is squealing and complaining and talking to it as Titch always does
I wonder where Eldest is? Fishing ?? He didn't show up when EJ brought the fish
Odin just flew in with another fish. Titch is screeching at him and mantling over his fish. Odin stood on the nest holding the flopping fish and looking at Titch as if to say, What is your problem? I came to bring a fish not take yours" Odin stayed a while to see if anyone wanted his fish . No one came to take it so he flew off with it
Hey Barabara Jean: Is that Titch chatting to his fish again?

Yup. It has been a busy morning . I posted the details.
Titch is getting down to the tougher skin onth fish and he is doing more grumbling
Titch is finishing his fish near the camera . I left the computer and now Eldest has a fish .
It is a large fish so I doubt that he caught it. It looks like an EJ size fish.
Everyone has been "well fed" today. All three chicks EJ and Odin have been seen. So, I am turning this over to the day shift. Nite!
Barbara Jean: Really do appreciate your posting all the news - things are a bit hectic for me this week. AM going to sign off now. Take care all.
The nest was empty and there was a half of a whopper on the nest. Odin just came and took it. :) He is not one to waste his energy fishing when there are free uneaten fish laying around LOL
I heard one Chick in the background complaining as he took it, but then If any of them had been eating it Odin wouldn't have taken it .
