Hi folks, not a lot has happened yesterday.. There was some acitivity in the morning and very little in the afternoon/evening unless I missed anything.
Are they perhaps getting ready for migration. We non't see the GEM's on the nest quite so frequently now, could they be fishing themselves or are EJ and Odin dropping fish into trees as was suggested yesterday, for them to pick up. This is a part of the ospreys life that we don't know much about but what a preveledge to watch them through all these weeks growing up. I'm prattling on just for something to say. I'll hand over tothe night staff and leave you with a poinant reminder of the nest. -- DESSERTED!!

Good evening all and thanks for the chat and pics. Good to have an update from LG and what an update it was, one of the Gem's has caught a fish. All three seem much more forward this year and I have a good feeling about their migration although of course we will not know until some ospreys which are not ringed turn up in a couple of years time. That might not happen of course as they may choose somewhere else to find a suitable nesting sight when they are read to mate.
I see several favourite moments. I have some myself, Odin really loving sitting on those precious eggs to the extent that EJ had to almost boot him off. Then a picture of EJ tenderly feeding the first one to hatch and when the other two hatched making sure they all got fed. Of course Odin with his regular supply of fish has meant that all three have grown into magnificent ospreys. How clever Titch was in making sure he was in the right place in the line up for food always amused me. I also will remember Titch's little noises of delight when he first flew, and after a short time got the hang of landing on the nest,he just seemed so happy to be able to do what his siblings were doing. All in all we will be left with so many memories, what about the day the nest disappeard under all that snow and we all wondered where EJ had gone.
As I type two on the nest making a bit of a racket but I can stand that it is just nice to see them.

The GEM who ate the fish is now screeching for more! Brenda - it is quite scarey sometimes how aggressive the young ones are towards the adults when they bring fish to the nest ... or indeed when they bring branches instead of fish!!

Beautiful evening sun on the nest just now.
Thanks for the pics DjoanS. You are right about an intruder always following Odin in when he has a fish to deliver. Notice he just drops the fish now and leave almost immediately before he gets pecked. The two GEM's still shouting for fish and I espect they are hoping EJ will come with one of her usual whales.
It is a lovely scene Joan, if only they didn't screech so loudly !!
DjoanS that is a super pic of them in the evening sun, what gorgeous colours they are.
The screecher has flown off, after trying to wreck the nest! Peace at last!!
DjoanS it is back again and I just heard another one in the distance. Noisy little devils.
Two on the nest ...one hiding on the left. The one on the right seems to have a fish .... where did that come from????
EJ brought in a fish and began to eat the head and was pushed off by a gem as it flew in.
EDIT. EJ then immediately left.
