The three juveniles are thriving under Mrs G and Aran's continued care, proving once again what formidable parents they are. Long may the season continue to be be hassle-free as it nears the time for migration
08 August
KC3 popped in for a couple of minutes @ 05:22, he shifted a stick (and flew off with a clump but dropped it over the side):
Only Raven activity then, until MrsG arrived @ 06:41 - she shifted a couple of sticks, only stayed 2 minutes:
Lovely :-*
Yukky >:(
08:21 MrsG arrived and spent 50 minutes on the nest, calling occasionally:
First fish of the day - it was a glary phase:
I'll be back to expand on that.
IMAGICAT
That fish delivery was collected by KC3, who hadn't made much progress when KC4 came in and took it, not much resistance from KC3... then there was an intrusion, and then MrsG took the fish, which was at a loose end, and flew off with it!
I checked Chat:
Before fish:
After fish:
To save me editing previous post - the fish was still nearly whole when MrsG flew with it - I think it was just too tough for the juves to make headway (literally ;) ):
The bereft juves had to flatten again:
KC4 flew @ 09:55, KC3 @ 10:16.
No-ID juve turned up on the perch for a short while, then definitely KC4, then the Ravens took over the nest for a few minutes:
ENS since then.
By a process of elimination, because the other 2 came looking afterwards, it was KC2 who got this fine mullet from Aran - it was near-as-dammit whole:
Intruder nearly caught?!
45s only:
Spider wrapped a fly:
Flying after another very short visit:
KC3 got this non-flounder and flew with, I couldn't get a better pic - the sun (how dare I complain?) is causing difficult shadows:
KC4 got a (?) brown trout, is still eating it on the nest:
Aran's here with another fish, it looks heavy from his movements but we can't see it because for some insane reason (probably a very good reason that I'm too thick to think of) the cam is so zoomed in, and no-one's come for it, KC4 has still not finished her trout...
... ah, Heather's back, thank you!
Not so much "heavy" as flapping:
No-one wanted it so Aran sailed off with it:
Dear KC4 ate her tail before flying:
KC3 got supper and flew with it almost immediately:
KC4 spent 8 minutes waiting, left with nothing:
Just checked Chat for any info re intruder/s today - it only goes back to 19:00 but I see that Heather said:
