Continued from Manton Bay – May 2020
The history of the Manton Bay nest, breeding stats and links to previous threads can be found here
The season so far: The resident pair both returned on 16 March - Blue 33(11) at 07:12 and Maya at 13:16. For the second consecutive year, Maya laid four eggs – the first on 29 March followed by another three first seen on 4, 6 and 9 April. Maya and Blue 33(11) faithfully incubated the four eggs and on day 38, the first chick hatched 6 May c13:20 followed by Chick #2 on 8 May c06:10, Chick #3 on 10 May c14:45, and Chick #4 on 13 May c20:45.
All four chicks have thrived under the protection of Maya and Blue 33(11) who has once again proved to be a fantastic provider for his family.
In two/three week’s time, the chicks will be ringed and we’ll learn a bit more about them.

Morning ALL -
Not an ideal situation at this time but as inconvenient and annoying as it is - especially the lack of communication, we can only wait on updates and systems being restored.
Hopefully throughout today we may get some updates as to what is happening at the nest and a blog about the ringing and the chicks vitals!
Considering #4 was ringed with the last combination ie 083 for now I can only assume they have been ringed in age order (if wrong I will amend it) therefore:
Today:
080 (#1) is 42 days - 6 weeks!
081 (#2) is 40 days
082 (#3) is 38 days
083 (#4) is 35 days - 5 weeks!
Morning Karen. 080 did look the eldest in the Fb pic yesterday, so I think you're right about them being ringed in age order There's a notice above the cams now re the loss of internet

However there is good news! Rutland Osprey Project 2 hrs · We have some really exciting news for you... One of the two 2017 Manton Bay fledged birds, male 2AM, is back in Rutland! In August 2019, 2AM was seen for the first time back in the UK and was spotted fishing over Blithfield Reservoir in Staffordshire. Thank you to Tim Mackrill for this amazing photo.

Great to learn all is well. Chicks fine, 33 and Maya seem fairly relaxed and straight back to feeding them.
