Beautiful female, Rutland's CJ7:
The hoped-for partner for CJ7, local male LS7, has not yet appeared. CJ has been tending the nest daily and yesterday she took everyone by surprise, producing an egg - which took us by surprise by surviving... until midnight at least ;)

Birdies LG DU update.
I have PT0 as male, but........
It does have a slight neckless, and quite a large bird.
Good to see it though.
PTO is a good looking bird, and appears in great condition

Very exciting! Well spotted Mike
Great news especially for LotL. That'll cheer them up!

SheilaFE said:What wonderful news, even if it turns out not to be the sex we all wanted! It is a fine looking osprey and LotL will be delighted
My thoughts too, Sheila :) I could kick myself for being so late getting around to it.
But continuing the routine...
CJ7 landed on the campost with chippy chirps @ 11:58, down onto the nest @ 12:38, can't resist her beautiful wings:
She pottered 'n preened:
And watched...
Flew, dropping a feather, @ 13:34:
Glimpse of osprey flying in to campost with fish @ 16:53:
I think that was CJ and never saw/heard/felt her leave.
Then PT0, empty-cropped and looking quite thin, I thought :-/
CJ's eviction was quite gentle, considering - but voices are very quiet (always have been on this cam), I've tried to enhance CJ's voice in the past but it doesn't work very well so I haven't bothered.
CJ7 not happy but not violent ;)
You have other snaps from trusty members so I'm not doing any more.
18:05 CJ landed on campost with chips - later, defends against whom?
Abbreviated - intruding osprey only just glimpsed flying over:
Intruder had a fish! So whose fish did I capture earlier?
I've run out of puff :(
After CJ left as per video, I don't think anyone's been back up to 01:00.
There was a landing on the campost @ 03:45, no movement seen since.
The "phenomenon" that ensued was quite violent:
Daycam showed a misty morning:
CJ7 and PTO both still here this morning.
