This was one of my last posts on the very sad 2019 Season which is a summary of what happened.
All we can hope for is that the unringed female returns and also the male KR3 she was bonding with last season. There is still a little part of me that hopes to see the return of Green BF though.

Darren has posted a tribute to Green BF on the Balgavies Loch Facebook Page
The loss of both EJ and Green BF has been a blow this season. All we can hope for is a better season next year.
A lovely post by Darren and his wife.

Some wonderful photos of Green BF from Darren - Green BF was such a great provider, watched him bring in a good few fish.
Farewell dear Green BF, you did good son! the really sad thing is the not knowing what happened to him, we never get closure. One little part of me cannot let go so next year in the Balgavies hide I will be waiting for a miracle!

It is great to see all the threads already started by everyone for the various projects/nests, lets hope all our pairs arrive home safely and it is a good season for them all.

We can only wait and see what happens Patily - hopefully we will know one way or the other.
Got a message from Darren last night, he had been at the Loch for 8 hours - he said female was calling for fish for a while but he didn't see any deliveries. Thought the behaviour has been a bit strange.
Won't give up hope yet, think I will look over the previous years photos at around this time and see if he had managed to get any photos of chicks in the nest then, but maybe that is a bit futile as this female was with Green BF then and obviously more settled.
Darren did send me more fabulous photos though

Well it is as I thought and have discussed with Darren, it looks like the Balgavies nest has failed this year, and I feel so very sad about it.
This often happens though when one of a pair does not return or disappears. All we can hope for is that both of them return next year and it is a successful season.
I really do hate seeing a female incubating eggs continually though, I find that so heartbreaking. I remember when Lady sat on eggs for a long while before finally leaving them.
Anyway this is Darren's post tonight. Click on it to go to the Facebook page to see the video.
