Valentine's Day morning the Western Meadowlark was first in! Poor thing's back and face were iced up
It was back for longer sessions later in the day, looking much better.
Lotsa Pine Grosbeaks and a single Evening Grosbeak - not edited, too tired:
IMAGICAT
NE Florida Bald Eagles
Checking thru my footage for yesterday (I've skipped some days), let's hope that NE24 isn't suffering from the same eye problem as the SWFL eaglets - right eye is closed
The team is keeping their own eyes closely on it.
It's too early in the day for a sharp picture but the eye is still closed:
NE24's eye improving:
That's very brave weather, daring to dampen Gabrielle's night
Sapsucker Woods
I wondered why the flying squirrels didn't dig under the snow like they usually do:
It turned out that the snow was frozen solid!
NE Florida - Samson & Gabrielle
NE24's right eye looks completely healed, altho maybe slightly smaller than the left:
Boreal Ontario
The Western Meadowlark was on the ground several times between lunchtime and evening.
The Gray Jay couple - they wouldn't stay still !!!

I keep going with this cam in case of someone unusual visiting - like the Pileated Woodpecker, whom I saw on just about the first day I covered it and never since - and to watch over the Flying Squirrels, and we all know what a bad job I've done at that, wot with losing a little dear to the Eastern Screech Owl
Got rewarded this morning, not by the biggest woodpecker but a big one, the Norther Flicker. The foreground was very, very dark, it's tricky lightening it without going into glare. Waffle-waffle...
In case you don't have time for vids, see the lovely markings as it flew off:
They often get woodpeckers sharing - I think this is a male Downy on the left and a female Hairy on the right (where else?), but don't quote me:
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
