The Meadowlark spent several minutes on the ground +/- 10:00.
There were a couple more refills of the feeder, then a complete refurb, at which time only in-shell peanuts were left - have they run out of seeds or do they expect them to be wasted because more heavy snow is due?
No more settling snow in the morning, Blue Jay picks off peanuts, Nuthatch finds the odd seed to fly off with, but Western Meadowlark has a really hard time - however, we (I) don't need to angst ourselves (myself) stoopid over him/her:
It was back again late afternoon, on both ground and feeder - apparently it will be looking for grain and weed seeds at this tme of year.
My other fave has popped in 2-3 times - it should be very comfortable in these conditions but I don't know how its face has become pink-stained - maybe that's normal or maybe it's the result of inaccurate colours:
Ruffed Grouse was here for 10 minutes, pecking and picking away:
Just before 19:00 a custodian came and shovelled show from under the feeder complex:
It's been a harsh night.

I've only just seen your post, KORKY, after I signed in - must have had the RF open too long yesterday. Lovely to see them, especially the Christmas robin
