    Thanks, everyone, for the pics and posts. Excellent that Harriet has the first egg of the season. As for American Goldfinches, while I love Audubon paintings, they do not show the male Am Goldfinch at its best. In the breeding season, the male's yellow bits are a very bright yellow, and it almost glows! See: www.allaboutbirds.org/.../id

    The Peace ornament had been put out again but a little spat knocked it over again:

    Blue Jays plucked out peanuts from under the snow:

    Cleared and refilled but the snow kept coming:

    It was deeper than the Nuthatch realised:

    And the Chickadee gota shock too - "I'm outta here"...

    But recovered its composure and found a snack:

    Total clearout made for nonplussed Nuthatch:

    Night visitors were left with mainly unshelled peanuts - makes sense Relaxed

    Found a Northern Flicker (woodpecker family, in case anyone is not familiar) and the Northern Cardinals didn't look too pleased - it was very dark so may look artificial due to brightening:

    That compensates for the continued absence of the Pileated Woodpecker ;)

    Hope someone comes in early to clear this lot - and it's still evening at this stage:

    Ah, .. Ken was rather being hopeful  with those cute but ‘pesky’ squirrels about

    So pleased ‘shorty legs’ Chickadee was rewarded for its bravery. Great sequence of shots there Scylla. This guy is so diligent and caring for the birds that visit his garden – what a haven in the American winter.

    The Northern Flicker is a very striking bird, certainly dominates the feeder tray

    Certainly no room in the feed tray if an Opossum is feeding - maybe the noise is shells cracking on the seeds? Thanks once more Scylla – an enjoyable session

    Familiar birds, but what a microphone!  Tho the traffic noise (I presume that's what it is) can be very loud.  This is a rough collection from the first 50 minutes:

    Ooo, lovely songsters on the second video. .. but why wouldn't it play in the thread? I always do click and watch it on YOuTube but ......

    The snow got deeper and when the birds started arriving just after daycam they were thoroughly discombobulated - but the custodian came to the rescue.  I think a Tufted Titmouse was first in, just to fetch and fly:

    Then a sad (or not?) sight:

    Back again in the afternoon, still encumbered:

    No birds seen from 16:45 up to the end of my clip @ 22:30.
