DAILY UPDATES - Loch Garten nest - August to cam shut-down 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen. It has been a busy day for ospreys at the centre. The afternoon saw a sky dancing male displaying over the Loch Garten car park with fish in talons and there were three more ospreys hanging around the nest in the very late afternoon. This is a really positive sign if a male is already trying to woo a female at LG before the start of the next breeding season. Here's hoping to more osprey action in the next couple days.

Evening, All. Apologies for any confusion I may have caused. I did not exchange names with the ringer; it was an exhibitor from Scotland with whom I was chatting about Ospreys (what else?!) who pointed him out, told me his name and that he rings birds in Scotland.
Sorry, Tiger, I did not intend to imply that there is any secret about who he is.
I probably should have asked him more questions; apologies that I did not but I also did not want to monopolise his time for ages. Most people probably have their own agenda at Birdfair and he most likely had things to do and places to go. I've no idea if the female chick of EJ's he mentioned is still among the living or if it was one from many years ago and perhaps I should have asked him about that as well (I will do so if I ever see him again unless one of you can enlighten us about which chick it might have been!) Presumably he knew about EJ's chick having chicks of her own because he has ringed all of EJ's chicks and any of that female's chicks as well.

Thanks GB for such amazing news, this settles my question from back in the spring. Lovely to know all her efforts did lead to a lasting legacy in the population. (Secretly I hope it was one of Henry's, he alwyas seemed a most tenacious bird)
