The season so far: Maya arrived back 14 March and Blue 33(11) on 23 March. Maya laid 4 eggs 2, 5, 8 and 11 April hatching 11, 11, 13 and 17 May. The four chicks were ringed on 21 June as follows: #1 Blue 054 (F), #2 Blue 055 (M), #3 Blue 056 (M) and #4 Blue 057 (F). Further details of their vital statistics can be found here. 055 aged 53 days fledged first on 3 July followed by 054 aged 54 days on 4 July then 056 aged 53 days on 5 July and finally 057 aged 55 days fledged on 11 July.
August has now arrived and the migration window opens. Maya and 33(11) have done a fantastic job raising these four beautiful young ospreys ensuring they have had the best start in life to undertake their first migration. So until such times they go their independent ways and head off south, enjoy!

Something around?
L-R, 055, 057, 056 and 054 (back lying down)
Juvies relax a little
and 055 gets tucked in again

Still wary, all looking around/up and 056 lies down
055 once more gets tucked in
055 finishes, walks away from the fish and 056 quickly moves in and takes it
056 now tucking in while 055 wipes his beak and 057 and 054 wait
055 now flies off
Watching them just now, I do feel a little sad wondering if this will be the last time we see them together?
056 finishes and steps aside.
057 moves forward to take the fish
057 grabs it and 056 wipes his beak
057 drags it across the nest 054 following
056 now flies off
057 now gets tucked in and 054 waits her turn
054 is still waiting!
Strange now seeing 054 feed last as when they were chicks she was always first - top of the pecking order.
057 is on the edge with the fish as 054 tries to steal but 057 is warning her off.
Something catching their attention?
054 spreads her wings and then flies off
leaving 057 with the fish
Someone landed on the campost - suspect 054 as she is still to eat!
057 is now finished and Maya arrives and takes the fish
Maya then takes off with it
054 then arrives - too late!
057 flies off and 054 is left on the nest shouting for fish :-(
056 now returns and waits with 054
