Hi all: First off, con't miss the last page of last week's chat for lovely photo of Alan's hibiscus and OG's very informative shots of the nest at LG, showing the perch under the nest where chick #1 likes to sit.
OG. Assume plumber on the list for next week. So Boat of Garten actually has something to do with a real boat! I thought it was some obscure Scottish vernacular-ish term that had nothing to do with a boat. There was a nature program here last week about "preparing" an environment for some species that are living in an area that is expected to be threatened by higher ocean levels in the coming years. As with the Lapwings, the change has to be made gradually.
Cirrus. A 12-mile hike! I probably burned a couple of hundred calories just thinking about it.
Was in the garden all day - as I type have the soaker hose going on the camellias, which I fed and which need deep watering about twice in the summer; they're putting out buds now. Also fed the roses and plumeria. Found a volunteer duranta repens growing in one of the plumeria pots - I thought it was familiar but only recognized it today. Sun came out around 11 and lovely cool evening now.
Lindybird I would love you to do a poem for me, would be most honoured.

Have some lines in my head! Will put them down tonight when I sit down, and write it on here tomorrow margobird!
Hi everyone.Just back from a weekend away in Perthshire. Managed to get to the Loch of the Lowes, and Loch Garten. Totally brilliant experiences. Seeing Ospreys in the flesh is magical. If I've managed to take any half decent pics, I'll post them.Paul
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Look forward to those, Heron. Sounds like a good trip for you.
Likewise, Paul, I look forward to seeing your pics.

I am looking forward to it Lindybird. Have a good evening. it has been so hot here today I fell asleep after dinner and woke up feeling like nothing on earth. Having a quick catch up and then early to bed for me.
Had a lovely time with our friends this afternoon – also caught up with news of mutual acquaintances.
Lindybird – I think the flowering spires in your photo belong to Eremurus stenophyllus or “Foxtail Lily”. Euonymus (I also can’t spell it) is a small shrub which has small white flowers but is generally grown for its variegated foliage. Loved those wonderful Alliums! Enjoyed the Duck poem for Diane!
Brenda – rain stopped around lunchtime, but OH says it has just started again tonight – supposed to be very wet tomorrow – just when we would be free to do some gardening and catch up with mowing, hoeing and dead-heading. Will send him shopping in the morning while I make an anniversary card for his brother, then early lunch as our chiropody appointment is at 1:30.
Welcome back, Heron – pleased you managed both Osprey Centres – look forward to some photos.
Margobird – I hope you are sleeping well tonight, and wake up refreshed – maybe you have been doing too much lately!
Must get to bed – head is thumping due to having had to think of menus in order to write shopping list. I was going to say I wish I could use someone else’s menu plan – but remembered my diet sheet – full of stuff I don’t like, and it doesn’t have courgettes every day as we are having right now!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Don't come on here very often but will give it a try. Nice to read all yours posts and what you are getting up to.
This week I am going to our Kids Summer Club attached to my church. This is the first time I have done it as I have to rely on daughter to take me. She is also doing it. Its great fun and really enjoyed the first morning. Looking forward to doing Wed, Thurs and Frid as well.
Now onto birds. I have to be an at home bird lover as I don't drive and it is not one of my husband's passions at all. He is into cricket and rugby. So its great when you can follow the LG, LOTL , and other nests and of cxourse other raptors or bird species. Will try to follow more in the winter months as Ospreys are my passion at the moment. I'm rambling away here, sorry.
