MANTON BAY – JUNE 2019

  • Cams back up, phew!

No parents on nest, chicks kinda lying down with 2 heads sticking up :)

  • In between rests from gardening, I grabbed a few captures of today's activities

12:55   #2 shows how tall he is :-D

13:23    33 had been in with another FISH for #4 is getting fed

    13:26   #4 is still eating :-D

13:28   #3 and #1 get fed after #4 has turned away ....   full

13:30   while waiting on its turn, #2 has a little flap to itself

16:11   Feed over and no fish left but 33 will rectify that :-D

  • Maya flew off and returned with some "greenery"

  • Top cam still playing up ... freezing, stuttering and down.

Weather is fine so would not expect it to be signal issue as was thought before to be the cause of the issues. I do hope it sorts itself out!
  • During "down time" a fish (piece) has appeared!!!!

17:09  Maya feeding #4 just now

    17:13  #4 still eating

17:14   An older chick joins and starts getting fed too

17:15  #4 still getting fed along with its older sibling!   Where is it putting it for it is at bursting point!

17:18  #4 has now turned away and Maya continues to feed the older chicks

  • FISH @ 18:53  and its a whopper :-)

    18:56  #4, #1 and #3 line up.   #3 getting fed first

18:57  #4 turns away (no aggression) deciding to wait leaving Maya feeding #1 and #3 turn about.

19:11 #1 now turns away.  Maya continues to feed #3

19:15  #3 now turns away and #4 stretches over #1 who is lying down in its path and gets fed

19:17   #4 has now pushed its way to the front and continues to be fed.  #2 patiently waits its turn at the side.

19:19   Maya takes a break from feeding and starts cleaning up.  #4 wants more and #2 has moved up.

19:23  Maya does not begin to feed again, instead wipes her beak.  #2 is snoozing but #4 still has its head up.

And now, Maya has flown.    Strange but can only assume that Maya thinks they have had enough and #4 surely has for it has eaten all day :-D

  • It looks like No 4 has decided that the bigger he/she is, the less he/she will be picked on.

    Richard B

  • Do you still think the older two are females and the younger two males Richard?

    I think #1 is female, #2 male, #3 male and #4 female.
  • Maya has now returned and got herself snuggled down with the chicks
