Thank you to all who responded to my feeder bird query.  I considered female Chaffinch at the time but, looking at the male, decided the head pattern was too dissimilar... but now, having looked it up on this very website (honestly, I was ever so busy and tired at the time) I'm going 100%  with CATLADY, NAIRNRED and ALAN (thank you for the photo!).

When I check thru the feeder recordings the birds flit by at 100 miles an hour but it's amazing how something different catches the eye, like the Cresties and Siskins when they first appeared - this female Chaffinch was a first for me in all this time, so I don't think it can have made an appearance very often.  Now I shall be looking for it when I see the male - which is a lot lately.

Looks like it’s back to small pictures, there doesn’t seem to be any set outcome of posting photos, they all turn out different, 

I'm trying to keep calm, PATILY :-* but getting very fidgety even tho I know it's early days yet. You'd think this lovely nest would attract new homecomers...

Good morning, MARY :-* Yes, shall be here for a while yet. I'm looking at 3 empty nests, like a fool ;-) The fourth (Arkaig) has its lid down but I can always check it in a tick.

That’s good to hear all is well at MC SCYLLA. I am on iPad and don’t understand why photos same size upload differently this morning to what they uploaded yesterday. Maybe they have been tweaking the system, or more likely its just me. 

Yours are a fine size. Oh well not to worry, will get there in the end.
