  Darren has posted a tribute to Green BF on the Balgavies Loch Facebook Page

  The loss of both EJ and Green BF has been a blow this season.   All we can hope for is a better season next year.

  Farewell dear Green BF, you did good son!    the really sad thing is the not knowing what happened to him, we never get closure.     One little part of me cannot let go so next year in the Balgavies hide I will be waiting for a miracle!

  Yes very sad Mary. Always hard to lose any osprey but favourites especially. And even more so when they go missing in action - AND when there’s a mate and eggs/chicks. Odin was a favourite of mine.

  What a lovely tribute from Darren, and Mary. Green BF was such a fine looking bird.
  I think it is the not knowing which makes it difficult, just like Odin. We can only assume the worse, but hope for the best, but it good that the female was bonding with a new male, Blue KR3(16), so perhaps there will be good news for the nest next year whether Green BF reappears or not. It's a mixed blessing.
