What a fantastic trip you had. It must have been amazing to see the birds you 'know'. It must really stir strong emotions, seeing them so far from home. I'm really envious.

Just read Sheila's very informative post. Spiffiing to hear JayDee !! and very many congratulations on your award. You do indeed do a terrific job.
So looking forward to all the nests pairs arriving - may they all do so safely this year.

I'm sure I've read about this stone island somewhere before, but this article is 23 March 2019.  It will be interesting to see what interest the ospreys take, given that they are known to nest on rocks and cliffs in other parts of the world!

When I get time to follow up the notifications, I am always impressed by JayDee's blogs, they are a delight to read.  That would be more valuable appreciation if I were a knowledgeable bird person, but it's sincere nevertheless.

Don't know if the ospreys will like it, but I think it is a rather ugly blott on the landscape. Yours, the grumpy old man. Ian

I'm with you Ian, I'm not taken with the "rock" at all but I'll see it in the flesh in September when I'm up on the River Tyne.
