And even more brilliant news. I received my copy of Birdwatch from Birdguies this morning and two items of note leapt out of the page at me! I have already passed on the news that Paul Stammers, Information Officer and Volunteer at Rutland Osprey Project, has been awarded winner for the Birdwatch Birders’ Choice Awards 2018, but I am delighted to see that Joanna Dailey (jaydee), Volunteer at the Kielder Ospsrey Project, was also nominated and awarded. “Pip Rowe said – I would like to nominate Joanne Dailey who has volunteered dfor ten years in various roles at Kielder Osprey Project. Joanna volunteers for around 50 hours a week during the osprey breeding season and closely monitors four active nests. From her observations and detailed notes, she is able to provide wonderfully detailed and informative blogs complete with screen grabs and embedded videos for the project website. These blogs are then made available to several Facebook groups, the RSPB community and other social media for an even wider audience. Even in the ‘off season’ Joanna continues her voluntary work by preparing and giving talks to local groups and catching up with the never-ending edmin. As well as practical tasks with Red Squirrels United and in the Northumberland National Park”. Many congratulations, jaydee, a very worthy award for you!
Kind regards, Ann
More pics and a video of Nest 2 EB in her wintering area. I cannot get rich formatting to create a link other than by publishing then editing. Otherwise it says page not found.
