Hi everyone, I've not been in much to the site today, on and off. It was thought that the youngest had fledged but this is in doubt and until it is confirmed by The Team we can assume that it hasn't yet.
There have certainly been some near takeoffs and helped by the wind, the youngest has jumped and "flown" across the nest but this is all. It has been the eldest getting bolder and the middle one taking on more flights. There's time yet.
Peaceful scene here with two young on the nest and the eldest probably on the cam post or way to the left at the edge,, don't really know where he is.
Happy viewing and we'll see what to day brings. Over to the night shift.

#1 eating - #2 dejected in nest, #3 looking off EJs perch:
-- no change that to #3 in middle, as he's now practising flying again.
Morning all: Thanks for all the posts and pix. See #1 Piggy grabbed that fish before any else had a chance. #2 and TItch are pretending they don't really care. Titch wingercizing but needs to watch out or a gust may launch her before she's quite ready!
I can nearly do it!
Titch and #2 are casting glances at #1 as if worryiing that there'll be nothing left for them. Oh dear. I have a hard time with greediness, regardless of the specie.
Looks as if its all gone, now...

Sorry, Annette, but it's the survival of the fittest. ALL animals [including us] live that way. Some animals do learn to share. All these ospreys will have to learn if they are to be successful breeding adults, so that they will feed their young. Odin and EJ have learnt it very well.
Actually I think sharing is not instinctive behaviour whereas eating for survival is.
Annette, these ospreys will learn. They have managed so much so far in such a relatively short space of time, haven't they?
Sorry, I don't mean to come across all preachy here. I have learnt so much watching these lovely animals.
No, wait a minute, one's eating - which one is it!! ?
edit: one on the left has fish between claws
#1 had his fill and decided to move that annoying branch, #2 takes leftover fish:
Now two are eating:
Either #2 or #3 combined major stick moving with beak cleaning, and is now using the stick as a perch. Stepped off stick and had a look at #1 with fish. Thought about making a grab for it but decided against it. Like all Ospreys I love #1 to bits but if he dropped a rainbow trout, he end up with fish scales on the back of his head. ;-)
