Sunday 1st April
Mrs G returns just after 2pm (time to be confirmed)
Thursday 5th April
On two separate occasions, Rutland-born female, Blue 3J, and Scottish male, Blue HR7, visit the nest. HR7 was seen around Glaslyn last year, Mrs G seems comfortable with him and they later mate.
Later in the evening there is an unringed male osprey on the scene, who looks very much like Aran. When he lands on the Glaslyn nest with the remains of a fish there is no mantling and no attempt to share the fish with Mrs G
[This male is later confirmed to be Aran]

The two birds perched in quite quick succession!
Who's this? I looked up Sparrow Hawk and the colour is wrong. Looked up Merlin, too.
Couldn't get a fly-off, it was gone in less than a frame!

It's all happening - we now have a juvie on the nest, waiting calmly.
It is thought to be a Goshawk MC. There are two birds there in fact. Another well hidden to the left of the main bird. Only visible when it moves.
Birdies LG DU update.
I would say it was a Female Sparrowhawk on the perch after the Jay

Great news! Chris Wood photographed Blue 5F(12)f in Gambia yesterday. She was sitting in a tree on Tugereng beach, just down the coast from Tanji Marsh. It is so good to know she has made another successful migration. 5F hatched at Site K, Rutland and last year 2018 she made the nest at Pont Croesor her own, but did not breed.
