On two separate occasions, Rutland-born female, Blue 3J, and Scottish male, Blue HR7, visit the nest. HR7 was seen around Glaslyn last year, Mrs G seems comfortable with him and they later mate.
Later in the evening there is an unringed male osprey on the scene, who looks very much like Aran. When he lands on the Glaslyn nest with the remains of a fish there is no mantling and no attempt to share the fish with Mrs G
[This male is later confirmed to be Aran]

Aran brings Mrs G a large trout at 11.04am and this year's breeding season begins

Evening All, Thanks for the new thread Mary.
Regarding the rings on the Glaslyn chicks--the ringer planned to ring them in age order and the rings were to be KS0, KS1 and KS2. However after he finished with the youngest chick he noticed that the glue on the ring on the oldest chick, KS0, had not taken for some reason and he had to remove it and start again with a new ring, KS3. There was no way he was going to re-ring all of the chicks. That is why the numbers are not in age order and we just must live with it! He made the right choice in my view. The less time taken to ring the chicks, the less the stress there is on the chicks and the parents.

No! I had 2h25m from 11:50hr onwards, and this is what happened, and it's taken me h-o-u-r-s due to difficulty in following minutiae in a long clip.
I missed the changeover from KS1 to KS3, I thought that KS1 had 2 fish.
Note dear Aran's empty crop. Still, it was only lunchtime.
